Stage 5

Building Control Submission

Once planning permission has been obtained and prior to starting building works, the construction detail drawings are subject to Building Regulation approval by either the Local Authority Building Control Department or an approved Independent Inspector.

Building regulations are a set of requirements laid down by Central Government and set out national guidelines which include the following

  • Construction detailing and works on site are carried out to approved standards

  • .The health, safety and welfare of people in and around the building

  • The conservation of fuel and energy within buildings

  • Ease of access and facilities for disabled people in public and commercial buildings

  • Fire safety and means of escape from buildings.

Building regulations cover a wide range of construction detailing for both residential and commercial projects, including extensions, conversions and new builds
